Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield Announces Capital Campaign for New Teen Center

Community is Invited to learn more and help bring this critical project to life
MARSHFIELD, MA, ISSUED DECEMBER 8, 2025 – The Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield is proud to announce the launch of a major Capital Campaign to fund the construction of a new Teen Center, a purpose-built, 5,000 sq. ft. facility designed to meet the growing and urgent needs of adolescents in our community.
Set on the Club’s existing campus—adjacent to the new turf field and street hockey rink—the Teen Center will serve as a safe, inspiring, and dedicated environment for young people in grades 5–12. With capacity for 330 teens, this facility will expand critical programming and provide an essential lifeline for youth who need support, structure, and belonging.

A Critical Moment for Teens
Across the South Shore and the nation, teens are experiencing unprecedented mental health challenges. Recent statistics reveal that:
  • 40% of high school students report persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness
  • 1 in 5 students have seriously considered attempting suicide

At the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield, the impact is clear. Last year alone, the Club served more than 1,200 youth, and demand for teen-specific support continues to rise. While the need grows, current space constraints limit the reach of these vital programs. “This is more than a building—it is a lifeline for the teens who need us most,” said Jim Bunnell, the Club’s CEO. “Safe spaces, strong mentors, and meaningful programming can change—and save—lives. This Teen Center will ensure we can continue to meet teens where they are and give them what they truly need at a time when they need it most.”

A Vision Built for Teens
The new Teen Center is designed with teens and for teens, providing space for:
  • Safe social connection and unstructured hangout time
  • Dedicated mental health and wellness programming
  • Leadership development and mentorship
  • Study areas, creative spaces, and teen-only events
  • Programs focused on health, career skills, college readiness, and life development

Project Budget & Fundraising Goal
The total estimated cost for the Teen Center is $3.5 million, including:
  • $2.5M building and construction
  • $750K furniture, fixtures, and equipment
  • $250K playground relocation
The Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield is now seeking philanthropic partners, community supporters, and local businesses to help make this critical resource a reality.

How the Community Can Help
The community is invited to learn more, get involved, and contribute to the campaign.
Every donation—large or small—directly supports local teens, ensuring they have a safe, supportive space to grow into confident, capable future leaders.
