Cape and Islands United Way Awards Over $500,000 to 40 Local Nonprofits

Annual grant program focused on key areas of need on Cape Cod and the Islands
Hyannis, MA — The Cape and Islands United Way has awarded more than $500,000 in grant funding to 40 nonprofit organizations serving residents across Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and Nantucket. The funding, made possible through the organization’s Community Impact Grant Program, supports a wide range of services in the areas of Health, Housing, Educational and Financial Services, Women’s Advancement, and Martha’s Vineyard-specific initiatives.
This significant investment reflects the United Way’s ongoing commitment to improving lives and building stronger communities by supporting nonprofits that address the region’s most pressing needs—from access to mental health care to housing stability and career training for women.
“At a time when many small, community-based organizations are facing rising costs and funding cuts, these grants offer more than just financial support. They provide stability, momentum, and hope,” said Mark Skala, President and CEO of the Cape and Islands United Way. “These nonprofits are on the frontlines every day, improving the quality of life for our neighbors. By investing in their work, we’re creating long-term, lasting impact for individuals and families across the Cape and Islands.”
The Community Impact Grants are made possible thanks to the generosity of local donors and businesses who believe in the power of community-led solutions. Funding decisions are informed by a rigorous application and review process, ensuring that every dollar contributes meaningfully to measurable outcomes.
