HYANNIS, MA — On Wednesday, July 17, The Michael English House, Inc. will bring together local leaders, trades professionals, and community members for an evening fundraiser at Yale Appliance’s new Hyannis showroom. The event will support the organization’s Skilled Purpose program, which provides hands-on carpentry training and
life-skills development to individuals rebuilding their lives after addiction or incarceration. Co-hosted by Yale Appliance and Clarke Living, the fundraiser runs from 4 to 7 p.m. and will include networking, a program presentation, and a silent auction.
The Skilled Purpose program equips individuals in recovery or reentry with hands-on carpentry skills, workforce readiness, and mentorship from trades professionals who are committed to giving back. The 12-week training includes interior and exterior trim, framing, tool safety, and job site experience — all designed to help participants find meaningful employment and avoid relapse or recidivism.
Guests at the July 17 fundraiser will enjoy an evening of networking with local business and civic leaders, mocktails and appetizers, and a presentation highlighting the Skilled Purpose program’s impact. A silent auction featuring premium kitchen appliances generously donated by Bosch, Café Appliances by GE, and Miele will run throughout the evening, with
proceeds directly supporting program participants in Cape Cod.
