Cape Cod, MA – A milestone year for WE CAN is drawing statewide recognition as Governor Maura Healey honors the organization’s 25 years of empowering women across Cape Cod. Founded in 2001, WE CAN has grown from a small initiative into a vital community resource, now serving more than 1,500 women each year through free, confidential programs focused on legal services, financial empowerment, employment support, and mentoring.

“For a quarter of a century, WE CAN has provided transformational support to women,” as stated by Governor Healey. “Your remarkable organization inspires people, strengthens our society, and stands as a beacon of empowerment and support for women all across Cape Cod.”

“For 25 years, WE CAN has stood beside women during some of the most pivotal moments in their lives,” said Lisa Guyon, Executive Director of WE CAN. “This milestone is a testament to the strength of the women we serve, the power of a community that believes in their potential. As we look ahead, we remain committed to expanding access, deepening our impact, and ensuring every woman on Cape Cod has the opportunity to move forward with confidence.”

Over the years, WE CAN has expanded its programming to meet the evolving needs of women on Cape Cod, including increased access to legal consultations, financial coaching, and career development services. With offices in Harwich Port and Hyannis, and now offering legal and financial services at the Falmouth Service Center, the organization continues to grow its reach and impact, helping women navigate life transitions and build more secure futures.

The 25th anniversary serves as both a celebration and a call to action. As the organization looks ahead, WE CAN remains committed to strengthening its programs, expanding access, and ensuring that every woman on Cape Cod has the opportunity to thrive.

The community is invited to learn more about WE CAN’s programs, explore ways to get involved, and follow along as the organization celebrates this milestone year. Visit http://www.wecancenter.org for more information.
