Local officials, business leaders and community advocates will gather on Oct. 30 for the fourth annual Housing to Protect Cape Cod (HPCC) Summit. The event will take place 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Emerald Resort – Hyport Conference Center, 35 Scudder Avenue, Hyannis.
Attendees will hear about progress since the HPCC coalition was launched in 2022 and receive tools and resources to advocate for housing in their community. With the housing crisis touching every corner of our region, this annual event provides an essential opportunity for conversation, collaboration, and action.

This year’s summit will include:
A gathering of more than 300 engaged attendees, including local businesses, workers, renters, homeowners, and advocates;
– An update on housing initiatives from the state level and hyperlocal initiatives that affect the Cape & Islands region;
– A deep dive into 40Y and how this zoning tool supports communities in creating more affordable, starter homes;
– A robust discussion on the conversion of short-term rental properties into year-round homes for locals; and
– Insights on how to engage the next generation of housing advocates.
Featured speakers will include State Senator Julian Cyr; Paul Niedzwiecki, CEO, Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce; and Housing Assistance CEO Alisa Magnotta. Town officials, business leaders and housing advocates from around the region will take part in panel discussions.
The event will conclude with recognition of local housing champions and a networking lunch.
