Places #3 in Top Public Schools and #10 in Best ROI categories by US News & World Report
BUZZARDS BAY, MA, ISSUED OCTOBER 14, 2025…Massachusetts Maritime Academy (MMA), a top-ranked public university with undergraduate degree programs focusing on science, engineering, technology, math, and business that blend academics and experiential learning, proudly announces that it has placed high in several 2025 and 2026 national and international ranking lists.
The Academy took the #3 spot in the Top Public Schools (North) category, placed #11 in the Regional Universities (North) category, and #33 in the Engineering Programs (no doctorate) by US News & World Report. Additionally, it was recognized as one of the top institutions for return on investment, ranking #10 nationwide on the US News & World Report list, based on long-term earnings data.
Earning spots on the Forbes List of America’s Top Colleges, MMA this year placed #356 out of 500 colleges across the United States and ranked #124 in the Northeast.
MMA was featured on the Money.com Best Colleges list for the 2025-2026 academic year, awarded a 4½-star rating. The Academy also came in at #29 on Best Value Colleges in America, ranked by Black Enterprise.
Excellence in research output, non-academic reputation, and the impact of notable alumni earned MMA several spots on Edu.Rank, an independent ranking platform that evaluates over 14,000 higher education institutions across 183 countries. The Academy ranked #57 in Massachusetts, #1,205 in the United States, and #4645 in the world.
