BRAINTREE, MA, ISSUED MAY 29, 2025…The Peabody Companies, a group of award-winning property management and real estate firms, reinforced its commitment to community during its May 15th annual meeting by welcoming representatives from Women’s Lunch Place, a nonprofit organization focused on support services and housing solutions for women facing homelessness or housing insecurity.  The organization’s mission reflects the Peabody Companies’ ongoing dedication to fostering meaningful change.

Held at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts, the Peabody Companies’ annual meeting served to review the past year, set strategic goals, and further engage and connect with team members.

Following presentations from Principal/CEO Melissa Fish-Crane and other members of the leadership team, Jennifer Hanlon Wigon, Chief Executive Officer of Women’s Lunch Place, took the stage to address the Peabody team.

Wigon shared the organization’s mission to empower women facing homelessness and poverty through essential services and advocacy. Her presentation featured a compelling video showcasing personal narratives from several women. They shared their struggles and the profound impact that Women’s Lunch Place has had on their lives.

Wigon’s presentation set the tone for a meaningful teambuilding activity. Peabody staff assembled 180 handbags filled with toiletries, nonperishable food items, and other small essentials for later distribution by Women’s Lunch Place.  Additionally, Peabody team members brought items with them to the meeting for donation.

Further volunteer opportunities were also scheduled for the next several weeks, allowing Peabody team members to continue to support and engage with the mission of Women’s Lunch Place.

“Our new, 50-bed shelter-to-housing initiative would not be possible without the Peabody Companies,” said Jennifer Hanlon Wigon, Chief Executive Officer of Women’s Lunch Place. “Their team has created a welcoming, dignified environment where formerly homeless women can feel safe and begin to rebuild their lives. From learning residents’ names to solving urgent needs, Peabody staff are a critical partner to our team of experts as they work to find permanent housing and break the cycle of homelessness for our guests.”

“At the Peabody Companies, we believe that meaningful change starts with intentional action,” said Fish-Crane. “Partnering with Women’s Lunch Place at our annual meeting was a powerful reminder of the impact we can have when we come together to support those facing housing and food insecurity and other life-altering challenges. We are proud to contribute to efforts that foster dignity, stability, and hope within our communities.”

Founded in 1982, Women’s Lunch Place was created to offer a safe refuge for homeless women during the day. Started as a small initiative serving meals in a church basement, the nonprofit organization has grown into a comprehensive support center that operates six days a week, year-round.
