May 29, 2025 (Cape Cod, MA) – The Cape Cod Technology Council will dive into the implications Artificial Intelligence (AI) will have on our communities and our society at its next First Friday on June 6th, 7:30-9 am, at Cape Cod Community College.
Peopleserv founder and CEO Roy Altman of South Yarmouth will lead the talk, helping to answer the question of whether AI is a threat or a tool that will enhance human potential.

During the First Friday, Altman will describe how AI got to where it is today and where it is headed. “If we don’t govern AI, there can be a lot of unintended consequences,” Altman warned. “It can be a wonderful tool, but also a horrible one. The decisions we make moving forward will determine whether it is helpful to us or not.”
Tech Council Executive Director Michael White encouraged anyone interested at all in AI to sign up for the nonprofit’s final First Friday talk before it takes a summer hiatus. “AI is such a hot-button issue with people worried about how it will affect our daily lives and the implications it will have on our jobs,” White said. “Roy will help us determine whether those concerns are valid while also showing the good that AI can bring to places like Cape Cod.”
Altman founded Peopleserv in 2003. Based in New York’s Hudson Valley, the software/services company assists a range of corporate clients in automating processes to increase efficiencies.
Originally from Brooklyn, New York, he holds an MBA in Management Information Systems from Pace University, and a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Music from the State University of New York at Albany.
He has over four decades of experience designing and implementing business application software, using innovative approaches to helping clients achieve process improvement and cost savings.
He has taught at New York University , Columbia University and Baruch College. He is an author, contributing articles and book chapters focused on business and technology, and regularly presents at industry conferences and events.
