April 10th Rockland rally to mobilize support of increased legislative funding for human services
MARSHFIELD, ROCKLAND, MA, ISSUED MARCH 19, 2026… Road to Responsibility (RTR; http://roadtoresponsibility.org), one of the region’s largest and most successful nonprofit organizations supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, will co-sponsor the South of Boston Caring Force Rally on Friday, April 10th from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the Double Tree in Rockland, mobilizing support for increased and sustainable legislative funding for human services.
RTR is sponsoring this rally alongside BAMSI, JRI, New England Village, Plymouth Cape ARC, REACH Inc., and Seven Hills Family Services.
The event will bring together human services providers, workers, local representatives, government officials, and other interested parties and advocates from across the region to make a strong, unified case to legislators about why increased funding for human services is essential.
Central to the rally’s message are two legislative bills introduced by The Provider’s Council, the largest association of community-based, non-profit human service organizations in Massachusetts, serving as the leading voice for advocacy, workforce development, and public policy. The bills would create a student loan repayment program for human services workers and ensure a livable wage for private, community-based nonprofit human services workers.
The South of Boston rally is one of several regional events being held in advance of the 14th Annual Caring Force Rally at the Massachusetts State House on May 13th. The Boston rally is organized by Caring Force, a grassroots advocacy initiative of The Provider’s Council, with a mission to create a stronger Massachusetts that protects its most vulnerable population while ensuring human services workers receive the pay, recognition, and respect they deserve.
“Our mission is to help the people we support live full, meaningful lives. To do that we must invest in the workforce that makes this mission possible,” said Christopher T. S. White, Ed. D., president and CEO of Road to Responsibility. “We hope to see many community members come out to join us at the DoubleTree Rockland on April 12th as we advocate for important legislative changes that will impact the future of the individuals and families we serve.”
The DoubleTree Rockland is located at 929 Hingham Street.
