Sixteen Cape Cod Arts Organizations Receive Funding Grants
(SOUTH YARMOUTH, MA) – The trustees of The John K. and Thirza F. Davenport Foundation for the Arts are pleased to announce that 16 Cape Cod arts organizations are receiving funding from the philanthropic group’s annual distribution, which totals $76,500.
The John K. and Thirza F. Davenport Foundation for the Arts funds Cape Cod based cultural organizations. The goal is to help create a vibrant and sustainable arts and culture community across the region.
Here are this year’s recipients, the grant amounts, and the programs being funded:
-Cape Cod Theatre Company — $10,000 — Blizzard of 2026 Restoration Initiative
-Cape Cod Theatre Company — $10,000 — 2026 Production Team Apprenticeship Program
-Cape Cod Repertory Theatre Company (Cape Rep Theatre) — $8,500 — Crosby Barn lighting infrastructure improvements
-Chatham Orpheum Theater — $5,000 — Free youth programming
-Cape Symphony — $5,000 — Link Up: Orchestra Rocks music education program
-Falmouth Academy — $5,000 — Through the Lens: Supporting Young Artists on Cape Cod
-Cape Cod Museum of Art — $5,000 — Summer youth art classes
-Yarmouth New Church Preservation Foundation (Thacher Hall) — $5,000 — Affordable arts programming at Thacher Hall
-Arts Foundation of Cape Cod — $4,000 — Arts Access & Creative Exchange
-Cotuit Center for the Arts — $4,000 — Exploring Community, Inclusion & Belonging Through Photography & Storytelling
-Eventide Arts, Inc. — $4,000 — Eventide Playwright Competition
-Academy of Performing Arts — $3,000 — The Academy Celebrates: America’s 250th
-Highfield Hall & Gardens — $2,000 — O Beautiful: The Life & Legacy of Poet Katharine Lee Bates – Celebrating Our Nation’s Semiquincentennial
-Provincetown Theater Foundation — $2,000 — Provincetown Theater Youth Company
-Provincetown Commons — $2,000 — Mural project celebrating Provincetown’s 300th anniversary
-Nicholas Suchecki — $2,000 — Scholarship to support doctoral (Ph.D.) studies at Lesley University
GRAND TOTAL: 76,500
In addition to the grants provided to local organizations, the Foundation also provides scholarships to Barnstable County residents in their last two years of undergraduate study or, preferably, graduate work in the visual and performing arts.

The John K. & Thirza F. Davenport Foundation was established in 1985. The primary funding for the Foundation has come from members of the Davenport family, Davenport Realty Trust, and private gifts. Scholarship recipients are encouraged to return to the Foundation the amounts they were awarded, when reasonably possible, to expand its assistance to others in need of scholarship aid.
