Sponsorships now available for businesses to support meaningful volunteer opportunities
NORWELL, MA, ISSUED FEBRUARY 6, 2026…South Shore Habitat for Humanity, a nonprofit organization delivering quality affordable housing in partnership with families in need and now celebrating its 40th anniversary, is excited to announce Women Build 2026, taking place throughout the month of March.
Women Build is an annual program that celebrates and empowers women to learn new skills in a supportive environment while helping us address the affordable housing crisis in Southeastern Massachusetts. The program provides opportunities for women and all those looking to celebrate women to participate in homebuilding activities to help build stronger, safer communities, while learning invaluable construction skills. (While the program is designed to engage and empower women, it is a fully gender-inclusive volunteer experience open to all.)
Companies, organizations, and groups of all kinds are encouraged to participate by sponsoring a team to join the South Shore Habitat for Humanity crew for a private build day any time throughout the month of March (or early April) to celebrate and empower women while supporting the affordable housing movement in their community.
Women Build Days will be led at one of South Shore Habitat for Humanity’s current sites in Easton or Abington, and include a full day of construction, empowerment and fun, led by a South Shore Habitat for Humanity Construction Project Manager. No construction experience is required, and all volunteers are welcome.
“We are so excited to launch this year’s Women Build 2026,” said Erin McGough, South Shore Habitat for Humanity’s executive director. “This program provides businesses with a way to provide meaningful volunteer opportunities for their team members, encouraging stronger working relationships while demonstrating a true commitment to giving back to the community and empowering women. We look forward to all the progress we will make throughout the month of March and beyond, allowing us to provide even more housing, more quickly, to more members of our community.”

About South Shore Habitat for Humanity:
The Mission of South Shore Habitat for Humanity is to build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter by partnering with families in need of affordable housing. South Shore Habitat is a 501c3 organization that serves 32 cities and towns south and southwest of Boston. The organization has delivered or has under construction more than 70 homes since its founding in 1986. Habitat “Family Partners” put in “sweat equity hours” alongside local volunteers to help build their home and purchase the home with an affordable mortgage. Each home has a deed restriction that maintains the affordability status in perpetuity. Family Partners are selected through a competitive underwriting process based on their ability to pay, willingness to partner, and their need for adequate housing. The organization’s headquarters are located at 77 Accord Park, Suite D7, Norwell, MA 02061. To learn more, visit www.sshabitat.org or call 781-347-3763.
