The Arc of the South Shore Named a Best Place to Work by Cape & Plymouth Marketing

WEYMOUTH, MA, ISSUED AUGUST 20, 2026…The Arc of the South Shore, a family-oriented, community-based non-profit providing information, referrals, and community programs for individuals with disabilities, now celebrating its 75th year, is proud to announce that it has been honored as a Best Place to Work by Cape & Plymouth Marketing.

The Arc of the South Shore is one of 30 organizations nominated by staff, volunteers and/or vendors to be selected for the honor. All nominations were voted based on criteria in team culture, hiring, training, community service, and company communication. Organizations selected for the honor are recognized for creating positive work environments that foster employee satisfaction and growth.

The Arc’s culture is rooted in care – for the individuals and families it serves and for the employees who make its mission possible. This commitment is reflected in inclusive traditions such as the annual Summer Soiree fashion show where employees and individuals served by The Arc participate side-by-side, strengthening camaraderie and celebrating the organization’s mission. Offsite employee appreciation events are held throughout the year, providing staff the chance to connect, recharge, and enjoy time together in a relaxed setting.

The Arc of the South Shore is equally dedicated to employee growth, offering ongoing training, professional development, and mentorship opportunities. Staff members are encouraged to pursue leadership programs, such as Leadership South Shore, with many advancing into roles with greater responsibility.

As the organization celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, it continues to honor the people who have helped shape its history by investing in the development and success of its workforce.

“Being named a Best Place to Work by Cape & Plymouth Marketing is a reflection of the compassion, dedication, and teamwork that define our organization,” said Elizabeth Sandblom, CEO of The Arc of the South Shore. “We are proud to offer a workplace where employees feel supported, valued, and empowered to grow and this award affirms the strength of that commitment.”

Best Place to Work honorees will be celebrated at an awards ceremony on September 10th at Hotel 1620 in Plymouth.

About The Arc of the South Shore, Inc.
The Arc of the South Shore (The Arc) was founded in 1951 when a group of individuals created a school for children with disabilities. Then, in 1967, The Arc was deeded property at Webb State Park in Weymouth; the space gave the agency a permanent home and the opportunity to expand. By the end of the 1980s, The Arc became a multi-service agency. Today, The Arc is a family-oriented, community-based non-profit providing information, referrals, and community programs for individuals with disabilities.

These services include an Autism Resource Center, early intervention program, community supports, employment services, day supports and habilitation programs, in-home care, and residential services. All of their programs are based on their six core values of people first, community, transparency, self-determination, diversity, and respect. The Arc serves participants from communities throughout the South Shore, including Abington, Milton, Quincy, Randolph, Braintree, Weymouth, Hingham, Hull, Cohasset, Scituate, and Norwell. Throughout their 75-year history, they have helped more than 100,000 people.
