March 9, 2026 (Cape Cod, MA) – Heroes In Transition (HIT) is excited to announce that The Baldwin Group has signed on as the Presenting Sponsor of the 11th Annual Ruck4HIT. The company’s commitment represents a milestone for the ruck relay race as The Baldwin Group becomes the first-ever Presenting Sponsor of this signature event.
“The Ruck4HIT represents the very best of what a community can do when people come together with purpose. Our colleagues across New England are proud to support Heroes In Transition and the vital work they do for service members, veterans, and military families on Cape Cod and beyond,” said David Robinson, Regional President of The Baldwin Group Northeast. “Stepping forward as the Presenting Sponsor reflects our deep respect for those who serve and our commitment to supporting the communities where we live and work.”
“As one of the country’s preeminent insurance firms, The Baldwin Group has achieved incredible success in its industry. Having them partner with us on the Ruck4HIT will allow us to elevate a race that makes a profound difference in the lives of local service members, veterans, and their loved ones,” said HIT Executive Director Silene Gordon. “Over the years, The Baldwin Group has understood the importance of giving back to our neighbors who are serving and have served our country by volunteering and participating in the Ruck4HIT. Through this sponsorship, they are deepening the impact they are making in our community and strengthening the relationship that we have with them and their employees.”
Since 2023, The Baldwin Group — formerly known as RogersGray — has annually fielded a team for the Ruck4HIT, a 36-hour ruck relay run that passes through every town on Cape Cod. Last year, the RogersGray RG Ruckers team was the leading fundraiser for the event which supports HIT’s 15 programs that provide critical assistance to service members, veterans, military spouses, military couples, and military families throughout the region.
The Baldwin Group’s TBG Ruckers is joining 14 other teams who will participate in this year’s race which kicks off on Friday, April 24th at the Cape Cod Fairgrounds in East Falmouth, and will conclude with a finish line celebration on April 25th, also at the fairgrounds.
TBG Ruckers consists of employees of The Baldwin Group who live and work throughout its footprint in New England, including East Falmouth, Yarmouth Port, Plymouth, Duxbury, Rockland, and Feeding Hills as well as Derry, New Hampshire.
The firm will be well represented throughout the two-day event, including fielding a team of volunteers along the Ruck4HIT route as well as the finish line.
As part of this year’s event, Gary Bruno of East Falmouth, a partner at The Baldwin Group, will be featured in the “Road To Ruck” marketing campaign, highlighting his story, why he is rucking, and his training for the race. Bruno’s videos will be shared on HIT’s and Ruck4HIT’s social media channels.
The Ruck4HIT started in 2016 as a one-team relay in which 12 ruckers and 4 drivers rucked 41 hours from Ground Zero in New York City to Falmouth. The following year, the event moved to Cape Cod, where it has been held ever since, drawing participants from throughout the country and multiple teams, consisting of a minimum of 7 ruckers and 2 drivers, who ruck through every town on the Cape.
The Ruck4HIT is unique in that each rucker wears a 10- to 20-pound rucksack which symbolizes the burdens our military and veterans carry in service to our country.
The event benefits HIT, a Mashpee-based nonprofit that is now in its 17th year and which was started by Cyndy and the late Kenneth Jones following the death of their only son, U.S. Marine Capt. Eric A. Jones, who was killed in a helicopter crash while flying a combat mission in Afghanistan in October 2009.
Cyndy and Kenneth formed HIT to honor Eric’s life, service, and sacrifice which it does through its programs which assist nearly 2,500 individuals on an annual basis.
