The Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency is the highest level of recognition awarded by Candid (formerly GuideStar), a leading source of data on non-profit organizations in the U.S. This seal signifies that a nonprofit has provided comprehensive and detailed information about its operations, including the following elements:

  • Goals and strategies
  • Capabilities and achievements
  • In-depth financial information
  • Progress indicators and impact metrics

To earn the Platinum seal, an organization must first complete the requirements for Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels, progressively providing more detailed disclosures. The Platinum level specifically requires sharing a recent metric that demonstrates the nonprofit’s progress and results, for example, the number of people served, program outcomes, or other impact-focused indicators. Uploading a current strategic plan or describing goal attainment is typically necessary.

Key aspects of the Platinum Seal:

  • Top 0.1% Achieved: Fewer than 1% of US nonprofits receive the Platinum Seal, highlighting a significant commitment to transparency and accountability
  • Trust and Credibility: The seal helps convincingly demonstrate to donors, funders, and the public that the organization is open, well-managed, and focused on measurable impact
  • Annual Updates Required: To maintain this status, nonprofits must update their information annually

In summary, the Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency denotes the highest public standard of openness in the nonprofit sector, focusing on real-world results and impact. It enhances donor confidence and aids informed funding decisions.

CIVOC is a tax-deductible, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It was founded in 1983 by a group of Vietnam Veterans who did not find the services and programs they needed to transition back to their communities anywhere in our region successfully.  Ever since then, we have been an indispensable veteran services provider across the region.  Building on the legacy that our founders established over 42 years ago, we offer multiple comprehensive support services that empower veterans to achieve independence with dignity and respect, including 14 monthly food pantries across Cape Cod and on Martha’s Vineyard, a Food Distribution Center, transportation service for veterans to life-sustaining appointments, professional counseling, and transitional housing.
