South Yarmouth, MA — Jefferson Willis, a local Yarmouth police officer, will run the Boston Marathon on behalf of Cape Wellness Collaborative (CWC), a Cape Cod-based 501(c)(3) offering free-of-charge integrative wellness therapies and support for residents of Cape Cod and the Islands facing cancer, on Monday, April 21, 2025. “Before I decided to embark on this adventure, I made a promise to myself,” said Willis. “That promise was to only run and fundraise for a cause I could stand behind. I didn’t want to just find a random team and run for the sake of running. Fortunately, I found an organization right here in Yarmouth that I am proud to represent.”

A new fundraising initiative for CWC, the organization chose Willis after an application process in
December 2024. Willis, a 29-year-old Cape Cod resident, seeks to raise a minimum of $13,000 for
CWC before the historic marathon in April. The funds from Willis’s campaign will support key programming at CWC, including access to integrative wellness practitioners and handcrafted meal delivery for cancer patients and caregivers on the Cape and Islands. “What makes [CWC] remarkable is their commitment to offering these services completely free of charge to the recipients, ensuring those battling cancer receive the care and support they need during such a challenging time,” said Willis.
