40 Under 40 Class of 2021!

Honoree Name: Megan Terrio
Company: Megan F. Terrio, CPA, LLC, East Sandwich
Career background / highlights: I started my business in 2018, shortly after that I applied for the Entrepreneurship For All Accelerator program, did not get in, but was asked to teach the Budget/Forecast class, which ended up as the better opportunity for me. Through that, and Cape Cod Young Professionals, I have broadened my network and been able to meet/work with a lot of amazing people.
Community commitment: Member of the CCYP Board of Directors; volunteer mentor and "subject matter expert" with EforAll Cape Cod, volunteer with the Community Development Partnership teaching Quickbooks courses.
Favorite professional moment: Other than this, the day I took the leap and began my own business.
Who is your role model / mentor? My parents.
What mistake has taught you the most? Not saying "no thanks" to some work/clients out of fear, I’ve learned it’s OK to say no when your plate is too full or you don't feel like something is a good fit.
What one book has impacted your life? There are too many, but the most recent is “Between Two Kingdoms” by Suleika Jaouad.
What is your superpower? Positivity. (Also getting the peanut butter-to-jelly ratio right on my kids’ sandwiches.)
Where can you be found on the weekends? Spending time with my kids and family. If it's summer, we'll be at the beach!
