Registration is now open for the 33rd annual Yarmouth Rotary Charity Golf Tournament, which will take place Tuesday, Sept. 26, at Cummaquid Golf Course.
The club’s largest charity fundraiser has raised approximately $600,000 in scholarship funds benefiting more than 600 students from Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School, Cape Cod Regional Technical High School, Sturgis High School and and Pope John Paul High School. In addition to the scholarship fund, proceeds support The Yarmouth Food Pantry, Brite Lights of Cape Cod, the Annual Christmas party for needy children and their families, weekly support of the Meals on Wheels program, local financial requests for assistance through the Rotary’s Good Works Committee; and the Rotary’s Vacation Book Club, which provides books five times a year to all Dennis and Yarmouth students in kindergarten through Grade 3. This amounts to 960 books each distribution, a total of 4,800 books each year.
Registration start time is 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 11 a.m. The tournament kicks off at noon (shotgun start) and is followed by dinner, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Three awards will be presented, named in memory of former Yarmouth Rotarians,
Paul Sullivan, Larry Putnam and Ken Jenks.
