South Yarmouth, MA — Cape Wellness Collaborative (CWC), a Cape Cod-based 501(c)(3) offering free-of-charge integrative wellness therapies and support for residents of Cape Cod and the Islands facing cancer, raised over $150,000 at its Masquerade Gala on October 25, 2024, at the Pelham House Resort in Dennis Port, Massachusetts. The fundraiser, which exceeded its fundraising goal, primarily supported CWC’s Wellness Care program, which offers funds for free integrative therapies like acupuncture, massage therapy, reiki, and movement classes to CWC clients.
The Masquerade Gala is CWC’s largest fundraiser of the year. Donning masks and festive attire, gala guests embraced the Venetian-inspired theme, with one guest even fashioning a crown from a bra in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The event featured entertainment for magician Jonas Cain, music by the Bart Weisman Jazz Trio, a three-course meal presented by the Pelham House Resort, and a live auction and paddle raise for CWC’s Wellness Card program.
“The support and generosity in the room were truly moving,” said CWC Chief Executive Officer Carol Bosco Baumann. “This was a group of incredibly kind people on the Cape and Islands who wanted to help neighbors facing cancer feel better. Access to integrative care for cancer patients is limited, despite a growing body of research proving its effectiveness in relieving treatment symptoms and aiding in recovery. We are very grateful for those who made the Masquerade Gala such a success.”
The Masquerade Gala was sponsored by the Hess & Helyn Kline Foundation, MARJO Family FUN-raising golf tournament community, The West End restaurant, Nauset Optical and Dr. Diane Todd, The Palmer & Jane D. Davenport Foundation, Zahn Foundation, Cape Cod Healthcare, MDVIP, The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod, Cape Cod 5, and Puzio Eyecare Associates. In-kind sponsors include Cape Air, Cape Cod Commercial Linen Service, Organic Photography, BonhamSkinner, Joseph Carr, Provincetown Jazz Festival, Susan Carroll, Foxboro Dental Associates, and Sunderland Printing.
