Career background / highlights: Housing advocate, loan officer and real estate broker, Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.
Community commitment: I am a member of the CHAPA Selection committee, which helps non-profit organizations with their first-time homebuyer programs. I am a counsel member at my local church and help with our youth. I also work with the Cape Verdean Association to help the community.
Favorite professional moment: I have a few, the first would be when I became a CRA loan officer where I helped clients in the gateway communities get pre-approved for a mortgage; second would be directing the homeownership center of NeighborWorks which helps coach clients on how to get pre-approved with a lender, and finding assistance that will help them get into a home sooner than they thought would be possible. Lastly, not least, is being nominated and selected for this award.
Who is your role model / mentor? My husband is my mentor. He has always believed in me more than myself sometimes and always pushes me to do better.
What mistake has taught you the most? Not pursuing my passion sooner.
What one book has impacted your life? “The Secret to Success” by Eric Thomas.
What is your superpower? Multitasking and helping others.
Where can you be found on the weekends? Weekends, I love going out for breakfast with my family, and shopping.
