40 Under 40 Class of 2021!

Honoree Name: Franchesca Marie Ferguson
Company: Law Office of Franchesca M. Ferguson, PLLC, Bourne
Career background / highlights:

I started my own private practice in 2018; my practice areas include criminal defense, personal injury, family and probate matters, and juvenile court matters. I am highly committed as a bar advocate for the Commonwealth.

Community commitment: In 2019 I was appointed to serve on the Bylaw Committee for the Town of Bourne. I am also a member of the Barnstable County Bar Association.
Favorite professional moment: It's always great when clients tell you how happy they are with the outcome of their cases. Sometimes we have challenging matters and many uphill battles to overcome, but when clients have gratitude for our dedication and zealous advocacy, it's so worth it.
Who is your role model / mentor? I am so grateful to have a strong network of female attorneys who support each other and build each other up. Thank you to Sara, Kristen, Ellen, Nicole, Suzanne, Sue and so many other girl bosses who have inspired me along this journey.
What mistake has taught you the most? I finally learned that I can't do it all. Hiring additional staff has been so beneficial to my practice.
What one book has impacted your life? “The Power of Letting Go” by John Purkiss. It has taught me to be present and enjoy each moment in your life and let go of the thoughts and pain that can hold you back.
What is your superpower? Definitely being a supermom. I feel blessed to have my own successful private practice in my hometown, but being a mom is the most important and special job I've ever had.
Where can you be found on the weekends? Weekends are always spent with my family. I have a hardworking husband and we prioritize the time we get to spend with our two children. We love taking them to the beach, they can spend hours playing in the ocean and sand.
