Habitat of Greater Plymouth opens new ReStore in Carver

Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth opened a new Habitat ReStore location at 160 North Main St. in Carver on June 10.

The Habitat ReStore was previously located a short distance away in Carver and the move has been part of a long-term plan to expand the facility and improve access based on demand.  The new ReStore offers more space as well as better layout opportunities for the various products offered throughout the store, which range from cabinets, doors, and paint to gently used dining room sets, couches, and chairs, as well as other furniture pieces and construction supplies.  It also offers much-improved parking and visibility for the storefront.  The non-profit’s administrative offices are also housed in the new location.

All proceeds from the Habitat ReStore contribute to the construction of new Habitat for Humanity of Greater Plymouth homes.

New and used furniture, appliances, and building materials are available for sale to the general public at discount prices.

The COVID-19 pandemic caused a delay in the opening of the new location, but with Phase 2 of Gov. Baker’s Re-Opening Plan confirmed, the staff is eager to showcase a wide array of quality inventory at deeply discounted pricing to shoppers.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome the public to our new location, bigger and better than before,” said Jim Middleton, executive director of HFHGP. “This upgrade is yet another example of the impact that our affiliate delivers to the wider community.”

“We have an incredible variety of high-quality items available at great prices and I expect pieces will move quickly once we open the doors,” added Gary Miller, ReStore manager.  “We are all looking forward to that.”

HFHGP is following all guidelines set forth by the Commonwealth for retail operations, including social distancing markers, regular sanitization, and face masks required for all staff and shoppers. Hours of operation will be Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Inventory is always revolving.  As of now, the ReStore has suspended item donations and pick-ups but an announcement about when that will resume will happen at a later date.  Visit www.hfhplymouth.org/restore for updates or email restoredonations@verizon.net.
