Jay Nuss, principal of Jay Nuss Realty Group of Braintree, MA, with over 40 years of experience in the commercial real estate market sector, also recently announced the addition of associate Angela Nuss to the partnership level at the firm which provides an array of commercial real estate services throughout the Eastern Massachusetts market. The two new partners will continue to specialize in the representation of both buyers and sellers of small to medium-sized commercial properties.
As a key part of the firm’s management team, Tavares will work directly with firm principal Jay Nuss and fellow Partner/Manager Angela Nuss in shaping the direction and growth of the firm, which has served the commercial real estate community since its inception in 2011. The Jay Nuss name dates back even further in the commercial real estate industry, with principal Jay Nuss having more than four decades’ experience in the industry.
Tavares joined Jay Nuss Realty Group in 2018, serving both as a Broker and in Operations over the years. She holds a Doctorate of Law (J.D.) from Suffolk University, a master of education/human resources from Boston University, and an undergraduate degree in human resources management and personnel administration from Fitchburg State University. Prior to joining Jay Nuss Realty Group, she had experience with several other real estate agencies. As a licensed attorney, she was also an Administrator and Associate Legal Counsel for the Massachusetts Trial Court.
She is very actively involved in a number of community organizations, including the Rotary Club of Newton, where she has been a member since 2019 and just completed a term as President. Tavares is also active in other organizations including the Charles River Regional Chamber of Commerce, where she was recently honored for her volunteer efforts. During the pandemic, she worked with the Rotary Club and the Chamber in an effort to bring needed food relief to local households and the restaurant community. Over the length of the program, the effort supplied more than 10,000 meals and brought in excess of $160,000 to the Newton economy.

Tavares, the mother of an adult child, makes her home in Newton with her wife DeeDee Antonelli, the owner and operator of a fitness training studio in Newton. In her spare time, Tavares enjoys playing pickle ball, reading, hiking, biking and weight training.
