40 Under 40 Class of 2021!

Honoree Name: Karryn Lewis
Company: Whole Health Pharmacy, Hyannis
Career background / highlights:

Boston College 2003 B.A Psychology, Mass College of Pharmacy 2012 Doctor of Pharmacy.

Community commitment: We have partnered with several local businesses, schools, churches, and nonprofits in order to help them educate and bring positive change to their health and lifestyles. I've also served on several boards which focus on the well being of people within a community and how we (as a community) can assist them in meaningful ways.
Favorite professional moment: I was recently honored by Healthmart independent pharmacies and McKesson to highlight women in pharmacy. My pharmacy and I went on to be the recipient of the "Hometown Hero" spotlight for the northeast region.
Who is your role model / mentor? My mother and father inspired me as entrepreneurs, both having their own businesses. Even though retired, they spent my first two years in business helping me learn the skills and traits of a successful owner/operator as well as teaching me the importance of customer service. They believed in me when I didn't believe in myself!
What mistake has taught you the most? I, unfortunately, learned too late that I focused all of my energy and time for six years on building a successful business. It wasn't until recently that things came into perspective and I realized just how much of life I missed out on.
What one book has impacted your life? “The Odyssey” by Homer
What is your superpower? Seeing people's strengths as well as recognizing my own weaknesses has allowed me to empower those that work for me to grow themselves in areas where they can excel.
Where can you be found on the weekends? At the moment, my weekends are filled with flu shot and COVID vaccine clinics. However, when I do get a day off, I try to be on our boat enjoying the slow pace for a change, and playing with my puppy Leto!
