Describe in detail the culture of the company and a recent experience supporting that.
Because it’s a family-owned and run business, we have a laid-back, family-like culture at MCAC. As an employee, I feel supported without pressure at all times. Recently, I found myself having to confront an employee for exhibiting behavior against our policies. This was an uncomfortable situation for me because even though I’m a manager, I still work alongside this employee. My manager, Jenn, helped me to decide on how to confront this employee and checked in to be sure there were no problems that came up for me after.
Has the company/organization offered rewards or incentives for great customer service or a positive employee attitude?
Yes! We have been given gift cards on occasion to local restaurants as well as surprise gifts for doing things above the call of our employment.
Does the organization offer training for levels of advancement? Is there room for growth?
We are a gym, and we are offered some certifications for free or for a small fee.
Does this organization promote from within, or hire outside when looking for employees?
We are a small company and opt to promote within when it’s possible.
Provide an example of how this organization has recently gone above and beyond for an employee, team or client/customer.
During the pandemic when we were not open we were paid continually. We recognize a meme each month and offer them a convenient parking spot that’s always there for the month, plus a “swag bag” full of fun logo items and $$ to use in the gym for anything. We month we have a mangers meeting and the company provides us a lunch of our choosing from a local restaurant.
Communication is key, how effective is the organization at communication with their employees and/or client/customer? *
So great. I text my manager every day and she is always available to answer or help me in any way I ask.
In what ways does the organization give back to their community? Please provide an example.
We have held countless fundraisers for many local organizations. We recently held a drive for donations for Ukrainian and had more than 2 car films to bring to the local organization heading up the shipping. We do a food drive donation every Christmas for a local food pantry. There is more than likely more, but you’d need to check in with the operations manager, Jenn Majewski.
