Describe in detail the culture of the company and a recent experience supporting that.
PACTV is a family - a genuine group of people who care about one another. We have seen each other through marriages, deaths, and pandemics. In fact, while the world stopped, PACTV kept going because community media doesn't stop; we still had to support our towns. And over that time, we rallied together. Our fearless Executive Director never stopped communicating with us, never stopped her positive energy, and never stopped feeding us! The pandemic actually brought us closer together - this is my family.
Has the company/organization offered rewards or incentives for great customer service or a positive employee attitude?
There is never a shortage of praise around these parts - we are supported and congratulated constantly. And although we are a non-profit and our funding is going away (that's a story for another day), our ED is always willing to scrape the barrel for raises, bonuses, and other ways to let us know our work is valued.
Does the organization offer training for levels of advancement? Is there room for growth?
The leadership at our station believes in letting us run wild with our ideas. We have a concept for production, they tell us to write an outline, here are three weeks and a crew - go! In the four (almost five) years that I have worked here, I rose from receptionist to production coordinator/producer. Our directors believe in building us up and watching us fly.
Does this organization promote from within, or hire outside when looking for employees?
PACTV ALWAYS promotes within. Our team recognizes talent and takes the time to foster it. This is a crew that believes in building each other up.
Provide an example of how this organization has recently gone above and beyond for an employee, team or client/customer.
The examples are endless - going above and beyond for our staff, our community, and our clients are just in our blood. Recently we are asked to cover the return of the Mayflower II to Plymouth Harbor with a day's notice. We immediately dropped everything got a crew ready and charged them nothing. Our relationships both within and outside of our walls are important to us. We love what we do and we love the people we do it with.
Communication is key, how effective is the organization at communication with their employees and/or client/customer? *
Communication is what we do - we live by it. There are always meetings (productive meetings, not meetings that should have been emailed). Our boss will even go door to door to let us know of any updates. We are also in constant contact with the towns we serve - there are no mysteries, no guessing around here!
In what ways does the organization give back to their community? Please provide an example.
We are a community media station. In short, we are the community. We are continuously supporting town governments, supporting non-profits with incredible missions, and doing profiles on the people who seek to do good in their neighborhoods. We shine a light on the voices that you may not hear every day. We take pride in that. In fact, in 2020, we were voted business of the year by the very community we love.
Are you actively hiring/recruiting outside your organization?
