Describe in detail the culture of the company and a recent experience supporting that.
WeNeedaVacation (WNAV) is an amazing place to work. The culture is one that is very supportive of its staff. The owners:
• allow advancement in education and training.
• believe that family comes first.
• are passionate about the stability of the local community and preservation of the local environment. (Our "Housing Team" is devoted to understanding the local housing crisis on the Cape and Islands, and most of our staff are participating in the HAC Walk for Hope in May. Our "Green Team" encourages the environmental mindfulness of vacationers and homeowners. Recently the head of Mass Save talked to our homeowners about how they can make their rentals greener and help save the environment and save money by doing so.
Has the company/organization offered rewards or incentives for great customer service or a positive employee attitude?
The culture at WNAV is such that we naturally strive to do our best because we love the owners of the company. They encourage us to "spread our wings and fly" at work as well as to pursue local issues that we are passionate about (e.g., the Green and Housing Teams).
Does the organization offer training for levels of advancement? Is there room for growth?
Does this organization promote from within, or hire outside when looking for employees?
They always look to move people up the ladder from within first, then look outside when needed.
Provide an example of how this organization has recently gone above and beyond for an employee, team or client/customer.
I started at WNAV in 2017 as a freelancer doing some social media work. I became full-time as the Social Media Manager, then was promoted to Digital Marketing Manager, and am now Senior Marketing Manager. They have made every effort to help my advancement via words of encouragement, mentoring, and training.
Communication is key, how effective is the organization at communication with their employees and/or client/customer? *
Amazingly effective. The owners, Joan and Jeff Talmadge (as well as the COO, Jim Reese), are very open and honest with the staff and always make a concerted effort to communicate with homeowners and vacationers when a question or issue arises. The company prides itself on its fantastic communication.
In what ways does the organization give back to their community? Please provide an example.
We make donations to local causes, specifically the Nauset Disposal Trash Bash, The Center for Coastal Studies, and now the Walk for Hope.
(I love this company. The owners are very dear to me and I truly feel like more than just an employee.)
Are you actively hiring/recruiting outside your organization?
