YARMOUTH, MA [Wednesday, May 13, 2026] – The Yarmouth Sand Sculpture Trail officially returns for its milestone 15th anniversary season, transforming the town into a vibrant open-air gallery through mid-October. This cherished tradition invites visitors to explore more than 20 remarkable sculptures hand-crafted by the renowned artists at Fitzysnowman Sculpting.

By threading these masterpieces through local shops, landmarks, and spots to stay, play, or enjoy local flavor, the trail promotes tourism while inviting visitors to discover the unique gems that define Yarmouth’s character. As the largest trail of its kind in the U.S., this 15-year celebration utilizes over 85 tons of specialized sand to create three-ton masterpieces for the whole family.

The Artistic Journey Begins The 2026 season has commenced at the Yarmouth Chamber Visitor Center (424 Route 28, West Yarmouth), where the first sculpture of the year is currently being unveiled. Throughout this spring, the artists have worked closely with local business owners to dream up fresh, creative designs. Follow the journey and witness these pieces take shape at www.facebook.com/sandsculpturetrail.

“So exciting! I have gotten sculpture photos every year since the first summer celebration. Can’t wait for this year!!” — Tammy Williams Grimes

Maps & Annual Contests In mid-June, printed trail maps will be available at the Yarmouth Visitor Center, with digital versions online at yarmouthcapecod.com. Visitors are encouraged to participate in our annual People’s Choice Award to win a Yarmouth getaway package and our Weekly Photo Contest on Facebook for a chance to win local gift packages.

Meet the Artists & Sponsors Fitzysnowman Sculpting returns as the originating artists to bring their acclaimed expertise back to the Cape. This milestone season is made possible by generous sponsors including RJ Nardone Construction and Robert Childs Inc. for sand hauling. This project is partially funded by the Town of Yarmouth’s Tourism Revenue Preservation Fund.
