CARE for the Cape and Islands is seeking nominations from the community for their annual Business/Organization Stewardship Award and Youth Stewardship Award. The awards will be presented during the CARE About a Clean Cape & Islands Summit to be held Tuesday, Nov. 17, via Zoom.

To be considered the applicants must have shown a commitment to caring for the Cape and Islands and have adopted day-to-day practices that fit CARE’s mission to preserve and enhance its natural environment, culture or history. The youth award will be presented to an individual or youth group who is age 18 or younger and exhibits the same commitment to caring for Cape Cod and the Islands.

Previous business stewardship award recipients include Cape Cod Beer, Compost With Me, RideAway Adventures and the CapeAbilities “Green Team”. The youth award was previously presented to Lucy Swain and Plastic Free MV.

CARE was founded in 2012 and seeks to encourage, support, and create opportunities for visitors and residents to donate their “time, talent, and treasure” to help preserve and protect our region’s exquisite natural beauty, plant and wildlife habitats, Cape & Islands culture and history.

Nominations will be accepted through Oct. 30 and should be sent to info@careforthecapeandislands.org. The nomination should include the business name or youth name, an explanation of how they fit the criteria for the award and contact information for the person submitting the nomination.
