Urban Food Market Style Shopping Experience Features Groceries, Deli, Meals to Go

MASHPEE, Mass., April 4, 2024 – Mashpee Fresh Market, a locally owned, novel experience in convenience food shopping and prepared foods, will open at 32 Market Street in Mashpee Commons on Friday, April 5th. A grand opening celebration will be announced in the coming weeks.

Featuring a unique design that incorporates the charm of a country store into the layout of an urban food market, Mashpee Fresh Market offers what owner Seth Burdick calls a “differentiated display of groceries and hot meals to go.”

“Our hope is that the shopping experience will be a feast for the eyes as well as for the palate,” says Megan Burdick, who along with her husband Seth also owns Cotuit Fresh Market on Main Street in Cotuit and the Popponesset Fresh Marketplace in New Seabury. “We’ve got everything from staples like bread and milk to saffron and other spices, you name it.”  In addition, Mashpee Fresh Market will feature a salad bar, a hot bar, and fresh bakery items alongside a café style assortment of coffees.

Cheeses, charcuterie, a full deli, olive oils, sauces and other cooking ingredients are artfully displayed throughout grocery space that will also offer limited indoor, and as well as outdoor seating. Mashpee Fresh Market also promises frequent “tastings” of many of its locally sourced products.

“We want the store to be as exciting as we can possibly make it, appealing to all the senses,” says Seth Burdick, who knew the opportunity to open the store at Mashpee Commons was too good to pass up, “In my opinion, it’s the most attractive, highly trafficked and nicest shopping area on the Cape, and with a devoted following of foodies who already frequent the fine restaurants here– we can offer them something different, something to take home.”

“Mashpee Fresh Market has a feel similar to an urban market, so many food concepts all in one spot,” says Krysten Kelliher, Marketing Director for Mashpee Commons. “ It’s a perfect fit for the community, as it fills so many needs depending on whether you’re working and want a meal on the go or are taking a break from shopping at the Commons.”
