BayCoast Bank Donates $10,000 To Project GOAL

BayCoast Bank has made a donation of $10,000 to Project GOAL’s initiative to build two mini soccer courts in the community of Central Falls, R.I.

Project GOAL, (Greater Opportunity for Athletes to Learn) now in its 17th year of operation, provides academic and soccer activity free of charge to Rhode Island children of middle school age. Coeducational tutoring and mentoring is led by accredited teachers after school; the non-profit organization inspires academic success through the reward of soccer. By focusing on their academics for 90 minutes, participants earn and equal amount of time to play soccer. The program has been operated remotely over the past months due to COVID-19.

As part of its mission to be fully inclusive and offer additional opportunity for its students and the surrounding community, Project GOAL has embarked on the construction of two mini soccer courts located in the heart of Central Falls on Ledge Street, a short distance from the organization’s headquarters. The anticipated total cost of construction is estimated at $200,000.

“This will provide a much needed space for our students and members of the community to have a joint place of activity for socializing and exercise,” said Darius Shirzadi, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Project GOAL, extending thanks to BayCoast Bank for its $10,000 donation. “We can’t express how appreciative we are of your believing in what we are doing to improve our community for students from Project GOAL and the Central Falls community.”
