Dr. Tracy Rosebrock of Stonehill College has been appointed to the United Way of Greater Plymouth County Board of Directors.
Rosebrock is Assistant Professor of Biology and Health Science at Stonehill College. She has more than 20 years of experience as a researcher, biologist, and public health practitioner. She is also a seasoned educator and mentor with years of teaching experience in biology and health science. and has published in top-tier journals.
Rosebrock specializes in infectious disease biology and public health. Her dissertation research at Cornell University revealed a new mechanism used by bacterial pathogens to avoid detection by immune systems. She went on to work in the lab with Dr. Sarah Fortune at the Harvard School of Public Health where she unraveled part of the complex biology that causes those with HIV to be exceptionally susceptible to tuberculosis disease.
In regard to her educational background, Rosebrock earned her Ph.D. in Molecular Plant-Microbe Interactions from Cornell University’s Boyce Thompson Institute, her master’s in Molecular Biology from Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, and her bachelor’s in Biology from the New College of Florida. She is currently working toward her master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Her research interests include pathogens, epidemiology of infectious diseases, public health interventions, and evidence-based policy.
