HYANNIS, MA – The Cape & Islands Veterans Outreach Center (CIVOC) is pleased to share that as a direct result of our collaboration with our Banking Partner Cape Cod 5 (CC5) to develop and deliver a financial literacy program for veterans,  we were recognized by The Partnership for Financial Equity “Elevating Equity Award 2024.”  The award acknowledges both CIVOC & CC5’s commitment to the area of   “Responsive Banking Services Partnership – Financial Education for Underbanked Veterans.”

CIVOC is a tax-deductible, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. It was founded in 1983 by a group of Vietnam Veterans who needed help finding the services and programs they needed to successfully transition back to their communities anywhere in our region.  Since then, we have been an indispensable veteran services provider across the region.  Building on the legacy of our founders 40 years ago, we offer multiple comprehensive support services that empower veterans to achieve independence with dignity and respect, including 14 monthly food pantries across Cape Cod and on Martha’s Vineyard, a new Food Distribution Center feeding over 230 families weekly, transportation service for veterans to life-sustaining appointments, professional counseling, and transitional housing in Dennis and Hyannis and our new project in Martha’s Vineyard to build 12 new apartments.
