The Agway of Cape Cod Charitable Foundation announced a donation of $56,000 to local animal shelters as a result of Paw Palooza 2018, which was held in July.  The Animal Rescue League of Boston’s Brewster shelter and the MSPCA’s Centerville shelter each received checks in the amount of $28,000 this week.
“We are thrilled to be able to make these donations, which have grown exponentially since we began Paw Palooza three years ago,” said Jessica Wile Thomas, Co-Owner of Agway of Cape Cod.  “We’re especially grateful to the thousands of attendees who helped make this possible, along with all of the local and national businesses and organizations who supported the efforts.”
In addition to the donations to the ARL and the MSPCA, Agway also made a donation of $2500 to the Yarmouth Police Foundation in honor of Sgt. Sean Gannon.  Sgt. Gannon had participated in the K-9 demonstrations at Paw Palooza the two previous years. The funds will be used to help build the new Yarmouth Police Department training facility.
Since its inception in 2016, Paw Palooza has raised more than $110,000 for animal welfare organizations on the Cape.
More than 12,000 people and hundreds of dogs attended Paw Palooza 2018, making it the largest turnout to date. Held at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School, the festival featured a Dock Diving competition, stunt dog shows, a raffle, more than 100 vendors, a Kids Zone, and numerous activities for both families and dogs.  The next Paw Palooza event will take place in July of 2020.
The Agway of Cape Cod Charitable Foundation was established in 2016 with the goal of raising funds for local, non-profits in our Cape Cod community. Agway is a third-generation, family owned business with locations in Dennis, Chatham and Orleans.
