The Arc of the South Shore, a family-oriented, community-based nonprofit providing information, referrals and community programs for individuals with disabilities, will host its second annual Kellianne Memorial Ride on Saturday, June 24, in honor of beloved client Kellianne Burke, who passed away in October 2021 at the age of 33.
The event is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the East Freetown VFW at 59 Middleboro Road. Motorcyclists can join the Iron Order Motorcycle Club for a scenic motorcycle ride in memory of Burke, daughter of David Burke of Blue Collar Fuel and sister of Laura and Steven Burke.
Kellianne Burke was born with Down Syndrome and suffered from several health issues throughout her life, defying the odds by living to the age of 33. Despite her challenges, she lived life to the fullest, taking great pleasure in watching movies, listening to lively music, and benefitting from services she received from The Arc.
Ride tickets are $20 per single and $30 per couple. A post ride celebration beginning at noon at the VFW will feature live entertainment by Leslie Gage and Friends, a 50/50 raffle, raffle prizes, and refreshments; tickets to the post ride celebration are $10 per person. T-shirts will be sold at the event. All ride proceeds will benefit The Arc’s mission to empower people with disabilities.
