January 5, 2024 (Cape Cod, MA) – The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod’s (AFCC) next round of grant funding will open on Friday, January 12. Applications will be available on the Arts Foundation’s website at https://artsfoundation.org/.
“The Arts Foundation’s annual grant giving is a real opportunity for our organization to make a substantial investment in the arts sector to elevate the impactful work being done by arts organizations, artists, and nonprofits in the region,” said Executive Director Julie Wake. “This year, our goal is to take a serious look at how projects and programs can cross into other sectors and deepen the overall influence that the arts have throughout Cape Cod by raising awareness to and addressing issues affecting our community.”
The Arts Foundation will have separate applications for individual artists and organizations. Details on the application and review process, helpful tips for applicants, and funding priorities can be found on the Arts Foundation’s website.
Grants for artists will fund either Building Capabilities or Community Equity. Building Capabilities grants will support opportunities which pertain to an artist’s overall growth with examples including funding for infrastructure or improving technology. Community Equity will support projects or programs that engage underrepresented populations and address community challenges such as social justice, housing, mental health, immigration, or water quality issues.
The deadline to submit an application as an individual artist is Monday, April 8. The Arts Foundation anticipates announcing awards in late April.
Grants for organizations are open to either arts and cultural nonprofits, educational institutions, or social service agencies that provide cultural programming. Funding for organizations will be used for arts projects or programs with a priority on projects that fuel culture and innovation, drive economic growth, increase access to the arts, and strengthen involvement in the arts community.
The deadline to submit an application as an organization is Friday, March 8. The Arts Foundation anticipates announcing awards in late March.
All funding proposals will have to demonstrate a clear need within and an impact on the community.
The Arts Foundation will be holding three separate info sessions related to this year’s grant giving. The first, for individual artists, will take place on Monday, January 29, noon to 1 pm. Organization applicants are invited to an info session on Tuesday, January 30, noon to 1 pm. A final session for artist applicants will be held on Tuesday, March 19, noon to 1 pm. Applicants who have never applied for funding from the AFCC are encouraged to attend one of these sessions and should register at https://artsfoundation.org/.
Last year, the Arts Foundation awarded a record $130,000 in grant funding to 61 recipients through programs that offered joy, served as a pathway to healing, provided connection, strengthened community, and increased arts equity throughout Cape Cod.
Funding for the Arts Foundation’s annual grant giving is made possible with support from William Raveis Real Estate, South Shore Playhouse Associates, the Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod, RogersGray, the Donald C. McGraw Foundation, the Arts Foundation’s generous Prelude to Summer Gala gift-a-grant donors, and the AFCC Patron program.
