Barnstable County Real Estate Sales Volume, Value Remain Strong

Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade reports that the volume of real estate sales in February 2021 was up 46 percent fromFebruary 2020 volume and the total value of sales was up 67.7 percent from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 22.7 percent from the previous year.There was a 80.6 percent increase in the volume of mortgage activity from February 2020levels.

Year to date volume of sales increased 27.8 percent; total value of sales was up 65 percent; individual sales value rose 20 percent; mortgage volume is up 75 percent.

Meade reports that there were 528 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in February 2021 with stated sales values above $50,000, representing a stated value of $336,311,170 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in February 2021 was $459,950.

There were 1,846 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000 in February 2021 with a total value of $720,408,621.  The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $304,800.
