Barnstable County Real Estate Stays Strong In June

Barnstable County Register of Deeds John F. Meade reports that the volume of real estate sales in June 2021 was up 22.2 percent from June 2020 volume and the total value of sales was up 37.1 percent from the previous year. 

The median individual property sale value was up 22.6 percent from the previous year.  There was a 4.5 percent increase in the volume of mortgage activity from June 2020 levels.

Year to date statistics: Volume of sales is up 32.8 percent; total value of sales is up 68.5 percent; individual sales value is up 22.8 percent; and mortgage volume is up 43.3 percent.

Meade reports that there were 836 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in June 2021 with stated sales values above $50,000, representing a stated value of $551,120,108 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in June 2021 was $515,000.

There were 1,775 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000 in June 2021 with a total value of $753,680,548.  The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other was $328,000.

By way of comparison there were 684 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in June 2020 with stated sales values above $50,000, representing a stated value of $402,122,103 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in June 2020 was $420,000.

There were 1,698 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000 in June 2020 with a total value of $742,018,647.  The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $295,600.
