Barnstable Land Trust recently welcomed Kelsey Ellis as their new Director of Development.
Ellis will oversee the fundraising and development efforts supporting new land acquisition campaigns, stewardship activities, special projects, community programming and ongoing operations.
“We are very excited to have Kelsey join our team, especially as we prepare to celebrate our 40th anniversary next year,” said Janet Milkman, Barnstable Land Trust’s Executive Director. “Kelsey’s experience and reputation in the philanthropic and business communities will be invaluable in supporting our continued efforts to preserve and protect the Town of Barnstable’s natural assets and special places.”
Ellis most recently worked at The Davenport Companies, serving as the Event Director for Seaside Le Mans, an annual fundraising event held at Mashpee Commons that benefits the local nonprofit community, while she also supported the company’s philanthropic, marketing and business development projects. Previously, her work at the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in New York City included fundraising millions of dollars as the Campaign Director for their annual Light the Night Walk campaign.
A Brewster resident, Ellis graduated from Boston University’s College of Communication with honors and has been recognized as a Cape & Plymouth Business 40 Under 40 honoree. She also volunteers her time with Philanthropy Partners of the Cape and Islands as part of her ongoing commitment to supporting the local community.
“I welcome the opportunity to be part of Barnstable Land Trust as challenges like climate change, water quality, and development are impacting the fragility of our environment,” said Ellis. “I am particularly excited to expand the network of philanthropic partners who value the impact that BLT has made in preserving and protecting our natural resources while also connecting people to the land in new ways.”
