BayCoast Bank Announces Promotions for Hutchinson, Briggs, and Brouthers

SWANSEA, NORTH DIGHTON, MA, RUMFORD, CRANSTON, RI – BayCoast Bank (baycoast.bank), a long-time community savings bank serving the people and businesses on the South Coast of Massachusetts and Rhode Island, is proud to announce promotions for three exemplary executives.

David A. Hutchinson , a resident of Rumford, Rhode Island, has been promoted to First Vice President, Business Development and Acquisitions for BayCoast Bank. In this role, he leads the acquisition process by providing oversight and management, advising, and evaluating financial projections and risk assessments. With an emphasis on driving growth, he is also responsible for building meaningful relationships with local businesses, as well as designing and implementing key initiatives for new and existing customers.
Hutchinson, who joined BayCoast Bank in 2018, previously held key positions at Citizens Bank, State Street Bank, and The Boston Company.

A graduate of Northeastern University with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Hutchinson is committed to educational excellence and is currently enrolled in the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is a Co-chair for the 32nd Annual Play for PCD Benefit

Event supporting the Providence Country Day school in East Providence, Rhode Island, and a Board member for the Atlantis Charter School in Fall River, Massachusetts.

Kevin J. Briggs of Cranston, Rhode Island, has achieved the position of First Vice President, Strategic Initiatives for BayCoast Bank. Briggs, who joined the Bank in 2021, is responsible for managing BayCoast’s Enterprise Strategic Plan and credit card program, overseeing the Bank’s real estate property and construction management initiatives, as well as facilities and other operational and corporate duties.
Prior to joining the BayCoast family, Briggs was the Vice President, Senior Business Initiatives Manager for Bank of America’s Global Wealth Management Division. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of New Haven and a Master’s degree in Management from the Harvard University Extension School. He is currently enrolled in the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Briggs is deeply involved in our community, serving as a Board and Finance Committee member for Foster Forward in East Providence, RI, and member of the Executive and Finance Committees for the Paul Cuffee School in Providence, RI. He also volunteers his time for Credit for Life, a program offered by BayCoast Bank which gives high school students critical money management skills for the real world.

Casey N. Brouthers , BayCoast Bank’s top legal advisor, has been promoted to First Vice President, Associate General Counsel. Brouthers, who began her career at the Bank in 2020, was recently honored with two prestigious Emerging Leader Awards, one from the Massachusetts Bankers Association and the second from the American Bankers Association.
A graduate of Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts, with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology, Brouthers began her career in community banking in 2010. She is licensed to practice law in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island. An active participant in numerous local organizations, Brouthers is a member of the Fall River Mayor’s Task Force to End Homelessness and the Massachusetts Governor’s Advisory Committee for Lead Poisoning Prevention. She is also a volunteer for Credit for Life, which is part of BayCoast’s comprehensive financial literacy program helping students learn how to live within a budget.

A native of Taunton, MA, Brouthers resides in North Dighton, MA, with her husband and son.
