Cape Cod, MA: January is National Mentoring Month and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands (BBBSCCI) is gearing up to celebrate with supporters at Cape Cod Beer! The agency’s annual event, Celebration of Mentoring, is scheduled for Thursday, January 25th from 5:30pm-8pm. Now in its sixth year, the event celebrates over 300 current volunteer Bigs with an evening of music, free food and auction items.
“We are thrilled to have this year’s event back at Cape Cod Beer,” said JR Mell, Regional Director with BBBS. “Our Bigs are the superstars behind our mission—ensuring our youth have an additional, positive adult in their corner and we’re excited to celebrate them!”
The evening will feature auction items, light appetizers, a cash bar, raffle items and a free drink ticket for current mentors, or those who sign up to become a mentor that night. BBBSCCI encourages those who have considered volunteering to attend and meet current mentors and staff. With more than 70 kids waiting for a mentor, 41 of them boys, BBBS is especially in need of male-identifying volunteers. The event is free, pre-registration is suggested, and guests must be 21 or older to attend.
