Blue Rock Golf Course in South Yarmouth hosted its annual Club Championship during the weekend of Aug. 13 and 14 that featured a dramatic playoff in the Ladies Division.
Following two days of competitive play, Roberta Oberlander and 2021 defending champion Sara Trainer were tied after 36 holes. Both women halved the first playoff hole before Oberlander was able to pull out the win on the second playoff hole with a par.
Steve Clayton grabbed the Men’s Division Club Championship with a two-day score of 119 (59-60).
In the Senior Divisions, Jinx O’Loughlin captured the women’s crown with a two-day combined score of 156 (80-76), while John Vanderlinden topped the senior men with a 128 (63-65).
“It was an exciting two days of golf here at Blue Rock that featured top-notch play among a very competitive field,” said Blue Rock Golf Club Pro Jim Campbell. “The sudden death playoff finish in the Women’s Division was the highlight of this year’s event as Roberta and Sara battled to the end. The level of play among our members gets better every year.”
The adult divisions played 18 holes on Saturday and Sunday.
Taking the crown in the Junior Division was Ronan Finnegan with a one-round total of 67.
