Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield Receives Donation from Briteway Car Wash

More than 420 cars cruised through Briteway’s Haunted Car Wash this year, raising over $10,500 in proceeds for the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield in support of their scholarship program which helps families in need.

Briteway matched that amount and then some – donating a total of $21,668 to the club.

Scholarships are granted for the club’s Before School and After School programs which offer homework help, mentoring, guidance, club activities, sports and recreational activities, breakfast and snacks. Transportation from Marshfield elementary schools to the club is also included as part of the After School program.

“Briteway and the Vercollone family have been tremendous long-time supporters of the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield,” said Jim Bunnell, CEO of the Boys & Girls Club of Marshfield. “We’re incredibly grateful for their generous donation which provides essential funding for scholarships for families in need.”

This year’s Haunted Car Wash theme was a haunted campground known as “Camp Scream” which had an elaborately decorated set based on old fashioned horror films complete with ghouls and other costumed characters approaching the vehicles. The event was held Oct. 27 and 28,  sponsored by Tiny & Sons Glass.

“Thank you to our sponsors as well as the dozens of volunteers who did a terrific job setting the stage and portraying spooky characters to provide South Shore families with an outstanding experience,” added Bunnell.
