Pretty Picky Properties and Monomoy Real Estate and Construction teamed up with the Cape Cod Baseball League to raise $2,900 for the Family Pantry of Cape Cod in the Home Runs Against Hunger program.

The program generated a $50 donation to the Family Pantry of Cape Cod from the sister companies for each home team home run hit by the teams involved.

This season the four of the Cape Cod Baseball League teams – Brewster Whitecaps, Harwich Mariners, Chatham Anglers and Orleans Firebirds – hit a total of 58 round-trippers in their home parks, resulting in a combined contribution of $2,900.

“Most people don’t think of Cape Cod as a place where hunger is a problem, but it is,” said Blake Decker, CEO of Pretty Picky Properties. “We are so pleased to combine our commitment to the Cape Cod League with helping to meet a real need in our community.”

“It’s amazing that each dollar donated generates four meals for our hungry neighbors on the Cape,” said Justin Blair, Managing Partner of Monomoy Real Estate and Construction. “That means in the five years we’ve been doing this, the program has produced more than 41,000 meals!”

“We are delighted with this program and its continuing contribution to feeding the hungry in our community,” said Chris Menard, Executive Director of the Family Pantry of Cape Cod.

The Family Pantry of Cape Cod has a strategic partnership with the Greater Boston Food bank. This partnership allows the Family Pantry to provide four meals for every dollar donated, making any level of contribution immensely important.
