Cape Cinema, 35 Hope Lane, Dennis, is holding a benefit screening event of “The Guide” on Tuesday, April 19, at 7 p.m.
Tickets will be $20 each and all proceeds will be donated to the Ukraine Relief Fund, of the Human & Civil Rights Organizations of America, which manages the donations and ensures they reach organizations that are effectively working in Ukraine and with countries supporting Ukrainian refugees.
“The Guide” is directed by Oles Sanin and inspired by real life events. It focuses on Peter, a 10-year-old American boy who is visiting Ukraine with his father and growing up in the midst of a turbulent Soviet Ukraine in the 1930s.
The film is a historical depiction of Ukraine’s struggle in the 1930s and its relevance to current events pertaining to the Stand With Ukraine movement.
