Orleans, MA – Cape Cod 5 recently presented a $25,000 grant to the Martha’s Vineyard Museum. The grant, which will be distributed over the next three years, will contribute to the Museum’s Capital Campaign and supports the establishment of its new campus on 151 Lagoon Pond Road in Vineyard Haven.
“Cape Cod 5 is pleased to support the Martha’s Vineyard Museum and its objective to strengthen and preserve the connection to the Island and its diverse heritage,” said Dorothy A. Savarese, President and CEO of Cape Cod 5. “We are inspired by their work, which so effectively captures the vibrancy of the communities on Martha’s Vineyard.”
The Martha’s Vineyard Museum, founded in 1922, purchased the former 1895 Marine Hospital in Vineyard Haven in 2011. Funds from the Capital Campaign contributed to the renovation of the historical structure into the Museum’s new campus, which opened earlier this month.
Cape Cod 5 also recently presented a $25,000 grant to Martha’s Vineyard Community Services. The grant will be distributed over the next two years and will contribute to the organization’s Capital Campaign goals, which include the construction of a new Early Childhood Center and Main Building as well as an increase in their endowment.
“Cape Cod 5 is honored to support Martha’s Vineyard Community Services in their mission to provide Island residents with the social, emotional and financial amenities that are essential to their health and wellbeing,” said Dorothy A. Savarese, President and CEO of Cape Cod 5.
Founded in 1961 by a group of Island clergy men and family physicians, Martha’s Vineyard Community Services maintains an objective to meet the needs of Island individuals, families and communities through programs that provide access to education, health and human services.
