Cape Cod 5 Donates To Veterans Outreach Center

In recognition of Military Family Month, Cape Cod 5 today announced a $25,000 donation to Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center to help fund its new veterans home in Dennis, as well as a continuation of its annual donation drive in support of active duty military serving overseas.

The bank noted that these initiatives serve as part of Cape Cod 5’s ongoing support for veterans, active service members and their families, one of the bank’s primary areas of focus in its community engagement.

In addition, Cape Cod 5 will once again partner with Cape Cod Cares for the Troops to collect items for troops which will be assembled into care packages and sent to U.S. troops who will be away from home during the holidays. The bank has also granted use of its former Operations Center parking lot in Orleans as a distribution site for the USDA Farmers to Families program, through which the Cape Cod Military Support Foundation delivers fresh produce and fruits to veterans, military families and those in need on the Cape. Cape Cod 5 will make a contribution of $2,500 to support this effort and other CCMSF programs in the region, which comes in addition to the announcement made last year of a $30,000 multi-year commitment to the organization’s mission.

“Our servicemen and women protect our country and our freedoms all year long, and we are so grateful for their sacrifices – past and present – as well as those of their families,” said Dorothy A. Savarese, chair and CEO of Cape Cod 5. “At Cape Cod 5, we use all of the resources available to us in our support of veterans and military members and are proud to partner with local community organizations whose mission it is to serve those who serve to protect us.”

Donations to Cape Cod Cares for the Troops care packages can be made at any Cape Cod 5 Banking Center from Nov. 9 through 20, 2020. For a list of items needed, visit www.capecodfive.com/military-donations.
