Cape Cod Beer, Inc. Expands Distribution to Include Eastern Massachusetts

Cape Cod Beer, the Cape’s original craft brewery has signed a distribution agreement with Mayflower Brewing Co. of Plymouth to bring their canned products to a wider audience including towns east of Worcester, from the South Coast of Massachusetts to the New Hampshire border.

The distribution agreement will allow Mayflower Brewing to distribute Cape Cod Blonde, Cape Cod Red, Cape Cod IPA and Cape Cod Pilsener in 16-ounce cans to bars, restaurants and package/grocery stores in the areas that Mayflower already distributes.  While these four beers are slated for the initial release, some of Cape Cod Beer’s seasonal and specialty beers may be added over time.

Since 2004, Cape Cod Beer has exclusively self-distributed their product to wholesale customers within a self-limited 50-mile radius, including the geographic area of Plymouth to Provincetown. The additional distribution handled by Mayflower Brewing Co. will cover cities and towns east of Worcester County including Boston, Peabody, Framingham, Fall River, Quincy, New Bedford, Newton and more.

Cape Cod Beer will continue to self-distribute to their existing accounts with their current fleet of box trucks and in-house sales and distribution team.  With a total capacity of 15,000 barrels annually, Cape Cod Beer will continue to produce and package all their products at their Hyannis location. Meeting the increased capacity required of the new distribution area will not require any expansion at this time.

“With almost 20 years under our belt and the opportunity to work with a like-minded partner like Drew Brosseau and his team at Mayflower, we think this is the perfect opportunity to get our beer out beyond Cape Cod,” said President and Brewmaster Todd Marcus. “We’re excited our fans will be able to enjoy “A Vacation in Every Pint” in more of Massachusetts than ever before.”

Cape Cod Beer is Mayflower Brewing Company’s first distribution partner, noted Mayflower owner Drew Brosseau.

“We’re excited to be partnering with our friends at Cape Cod Beer because everyone will benefit.  Cape Cod will gain access to a larger market; we will strengthen our relationship with our retailers; and consumers will get to enjoy Cape Cod beer even when they’re not on vacation.”
