Cape Cod Beer to Host ‘Shuck! A Day of Oysters and Beer on Sept. 30

Shuck! A Day of Oysters & Beer returns to Hyannis Saturday, Sept. 30, from noon to 5 p.m. at Cape Cod Beer,  Phinney’s Lane, sponsored by Cape Cod Beer, Big Rock Oyster and Cape Cod Oyster.

Limited tickets are available for the event, which features raw bars with oysters from all over Cape Cod, Shucker’s Reward Oyster Stout, live music and educational exhibits to benefit Barnstable Clean Water Coalition. Tickets for the event can be purchased at http://www.capecodbeer.com/shuck2023. While Cape Cod Beer has on-site parking; carpooling is encouraged to help reduce congestion.

The autumn event is meant to highlight the wide variety of oysters that Cape Cod offers as well as their economic and ecological impact on the region.

Barnstable Clean Water Coalition will have displays and personnel onsite to talk about shell fishing’s positive impact on the Cape’s blue economy and water quality. Local band Johnny Hoy & The Bluefish headlines the music for the day at 2 p.m., with local singer/songwriter Natalia Bonfini opening for them. There will also be a variety of local makers that will be on site with items available for purchase such as, Washershore Jewelry, Cape Cloth, Mermaids of Cape Cod, Cape Cod Cutlery, SLYK Shades & more! Cape Cod Beer’s Shucker’s Reward Oyster Stout, an Irish extra stout made with oysters from across Cape Cod will also be available at the event.

“This event has become a staple for us,” said Cape Cod Beer’s Beth Marcus. “Over the years we have created such great relationships with the local oystermen, the hardworking folks at BCWC and so much more. We love being able to bring together so many people in the community for such a fun day that is all benefiting a great cause. And besides – is there anything better than oysters & beer?!”
