Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce celebrates 2017 Annual Meeting; Kenneth Smith inducted as new Board Chair

The 95th Annual Meeting of the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce was celebrated on Wednesday, June 7, at Cape Cinema and the Cape Cod Museum of Art in Dennis.
The Annual Meeting featured the election of directors and officers, including Kenneth Smith, E.V.P. of Red Jacket Resorts, as the new Board Chair and Larry Drago of BizChecks Payroll, Inc. as Vice Chair. The event was presided over by the outgoing Board Chair, Olive Chase of The Casual Gourmet. New to the board of directors are Denise Dever of Home Instead Senior Care; Alisa Galazzi of Housing Assistance Corp.; Andrew Gottlieb of Association to Preserve Cape Cod, Inc.; Stephan McMahon of Stephan P. McMahon & Company, PC; Lisa Parenteau, RE/MAX; and John Speers of the Chatham Bars Inn. Reelected to the board were Dr. John Cox of Cape Cod Community College; Eugene Curry, Attorney at Law and Fran Schofield of Robert Paul Real Estate.
Members thanked the following outgoing directors for their service to the board: Joel Crowell of The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod; Matt Lee of Tocci & Lee LLC; and Robert O’Leary. All three outgoing directors were presented with Citations from the Massachusetts Legislature presented by the Cape & Islands members of the House and Senate. In addition to Smith and Drago, officers elected included: Clerk: Bert Talerman, Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank; Treasurer: Janet Feeney, DePaola, Begg & Associates, P.C.; and Melinda Gallant, Joseph Gallant Fine Art; Richard Delaney, Center for Coastal Studies; and Linda Markham, Cape Air/Nantucket Airlines as officers of the organization.
Mid-term directors include: Terri Ahern, Cape Cod Healthcare; Shawn DeLude, Nauset Disposal; Gail Knell, The Ebb Tide & The Sea View; Bruce MacGregor, Sun Transportation; Bob Maffei, Maffei Landscape Contractors; Kathy Ohman, Liam’s at Nauset Beach/Kate’s Seafood; John Pappalardo, Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen’s Association; Jim Russo, Eastham Chamber of Commerce; Ellen Spear, Heritage Museums & Gardens; Paul Swartz, The Dockside Hotel Group; and Anne Van Vleck, CCYP.
Presenting sponsors for the evening included Bay State Wind, a DONG Energy and Eversource Initiative. The event was also sponsored by The Cape Cinema, Bayside Tent & Table, Cape Cod Museum of Art and The Casual Gourmet.
