Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative Hires New Executive Director

The Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative (Climate Collaborative) has announced that it has hired Miranda Daniloff Mancusi as full-time Executive Director.

Cape Cod Climate Change CollaborativeAs the Executive Director of a division at Harvard University’s School of Public Health, Mancusi oversaw strategy, growth, staff, administration, outreach and finances. She helped to create and build national and global public-facing scientific communications to showcase pioneering solutions, including those at the intersection of the environment, climate, and health. Mancusi also built multiple programs to foster networks that brought together senior-level policymakers and public and private-sector leaders to bring about social and policy changes.

A former journalist, storyteller, and editor at the Christian Science Monitor, WGN Radio, and New England Cable News, Mancusi has consulted for numerous nonprofits and has volunteered for climate-focused groups such as Mothers Out Front and Catalyst 2030.

“Miranda brings such experience and leadership skills to this position”, said Dorothy Savarese, Board President. “Her ability to drive change and bring people together for a common purpose will serve the Climate Collaborative exceptionally well as it continues to address the threat that the climate crisis poses to the Cape and Islands. With this hire, we will be able to drive the Climate Collaborative to its next chapter of growth.”

Mancusi holds a bachelor of science in Speech from Northwestern University and an MBA from Simmons University School of Management.

She and her husband are residents of Barnstable Village, where she also performs and volunteers for the Barnstable Comedy Club.

“Climate change and the breadth of its impact demands a breadth of response. That’s what the Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative is assembling – speedily, strategically and in partnership,” said  Mancusi. “I can’t wait to roll up my sleeves and join the work of the Board of Directors, the Advisory Council, Cape Cod Climate Action Network and Faith Networks, volunteers, and current and future partners to work on mitigating and adapting to the climate change challenges for the Cape and Islands.”

The Cape Cod Climate Change Collaborative is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to catalyze people and organizations to mitigate the ways in which we contribute to climate change as well as to adapt to and build resiliency to the impacts that are already emerging and inevitable. The Climate Collaborative is currently focused on three priorities: launching  a Housing and Climate Innovation Center; creating a smart, resilient modern electric grid, and supporting the implementation of the Cape Cod Commission’s Climate Action Plan (with the Cape Light Compact.)
